Pawtucketville | Lowell, MA - 2020




Lowell is a city of neighborhoods, but very little neighborhood-scale planning has been done in Lowell. 2020 marked year one of “The Lowell Neighborhoods Initiative,” a three-year initiative to draft a neighborhood plan for all nine neighborhoods in Lowell. Our goal is to explore existing neighborhood conditions and propose changes that might better serve them. In Spring, 2020, we completed a neighborhood plan for Pawtucketville, one of two Lowell neighborhoods situated north of the Merrimack River historically known for its large swaths of undeveloped land and its natural beauty.
