South Lowell | Lowell, MA - 2021

Lowell is a city of neighborhoods, but very little neighborhood-scale planning has been done in Lowell. 2020 marked year one of “The Lowell Neighborhoods Initiative,” a three-year initiative to draft a neighborhood plan for all nine neighborhoods in Lowell. Our goal is to explore existing neighborhood conditions and propose changes that might better serve them. In Spring, 2020, we completed a neighborhood plan for Back Central, a dense and dynamic neighborhood located south of Downtown Lowell.
